Why did this school of thought arise? Contrast it with at least three other theories you learned about in your textbook (e.g., Rogers' humanism, Jung's analyses, Piaget's schemata). Be sure that at least one theory comes from the German contributions and that one comes from the American contributions to the psychological paradigms.
