• Explore Nursing Theorists and Nursing Theories
• Distinguish between nursing theories, nursing philosophies and professional practice models.
• Examine the Careful Nursing philosophy and professional practice model.
Week 2 Assignment – Reflective Exercise:
Instructions for Reflective Exercises: These assignments are intended to foster integration of course readings, classroom content, and personal/professional experiences into the student’s understanding of the role of the professional nurse and forces that impact the profession.
Format(s): These exercises may be completed in a manner of the student’s choosing, but must be uploaded or linked to the online classroom. Creativity is encouraged, but the assignments are not intended to be burdensome. Some ideas include, but are not limited to:
• 1-2 page paper with written response to the reflective assignment. Double spacing is preferred, but APA formatting is not required for this assignment.
Week 2 Reflective Exercise Topic:
Using the information found at www.nursing-theory.org, or the Careful Nursing philosophy and professional practice model,
- Identify one nursing theory that resonates with your own beliefs and values about nursing.
- Using the assignment description for Reflective Exercises above, describe your personal philosophy of nursing.
