read the scenario and answer the question below
You are the Hotel Operation Manager of a Large Hotel in Las Vegas, NV. You have been on the property for 15 years in various capacities and have seen a plethora of groups throughout your career. This weekend your hotel is forecasting to sell out of all guest rooms. The room rate/ADR is unusually high and will meet forecast while exceeding your DECEMBER BUDGET. All departments are fully staffed as the demand is super high.
You are in your office and receive a call from your corporate office that the Ownership group needs 35 guest rooms this weekend to host a VIP group of overnight guests. These guests will arrive on Friday and depart Monday. These rooms will also be Complimentary and run at a $0 rate.
The city is jammed pack with no available guest rooms within 30 miles.
Today is Thursday and your property has 1000 guest rooms total. You are already 80% full and with the 400 reservations to arrive takes you to a perfect fill of 100%. The 400 reservations are confirmed/deposited for late arrival.
What are the first 10 steps you would follow and how would you resolve this situation without exposing the hotel to criticism and loss of revenue. Be sure to address the fact that your hotel currently has a contractual responsibility to have a guest room/accommodations available for those with guaranteed reservations.
