Indian Removal, Mexican War and Slavery

In this last section of the course we have put our attention towards Indian Removal, The Mexican-American War, Civil War Events and
Reconstruction, in addition to required readings chapter 7, 8, 9 in Zinn and class notes. What I have tried to instill in my lectures are personal
reactions of events, what these events meant to people on a personal level and on society in the face of the dogmatic status quo. The question for
you to answer—Describe and analyze the forces that the Indians, Mexicans, slaves, free blacks, black and white abolitionist had to confront,? Tie the
question into one thesis. I am definitely going to be looking for evidence to support your positions. I don’t want a “just because” approach. You have
been exposed to differing interpretation of U.S. history I want to see the intellectual results
