Interpretive Research Essay

Your major out-of-class assignment for this course is an interpretive research essay on Emily St. John Mandel’s Station Eleven. In your essay, you must
further your own interpretation of the work, one that develops out of your own close reading of the text. However, you must enhance or complicate your
interpretation by drawing on at least two other credible, relevant sources. Additionally, one of these sources must be a work of literary criticism.
You will need to have a completed version of your essay, including the Works Cited, to participate in the peer edit on Monday, November 21. Students who do
not produce a completed essay to participate in the peer edit will lose 5% from their essay.
