Interview either someone who is currently addressing mid or late career issues or someone who is “of retirement age” (basically, 55+). This obviously represents a rather wide range of people. For example, it could be your 37 year old sister who is trying to figure out what kind of a career she wants to pursue after staying home and raising her two kids after high school. Or it could be a 55 year old parent who has been recently “downsized” and is clearly not ready to retire and thus is deciding what direction he/she wishes to go. Alternatively, your interviewee could be a friend who took an early retirement package at age 58 and now has her own business making crafts. Alternatively,someone you know who retired at age 65 only to re-enter the workforce on a part-time basis a year later because he was bored. The key is to be able to address the issues and theories that are in the
readings (e.g., career development models and theories, or later career issues, or older worker stereotypes and demonstrate how they are played-out in real life
