focus upon the controversial relation(s) between several factors which impinge upon two or more dimensions (local, national, regional, and international).
For example, importing Western civilizations (its contents might have been problematic) for increasing national power or decreasing legitimacy to follow Emperor’s
causes symbolizing the sacred land (end of Edo). Another example should be heavy taxation and strong navy, or democracy and constitution with foreign loan (early
stage in Meiji). But new perspectives are more welcomed, if it is very clear and interesting.
