What would John Milton, John Stuart Mill or Oliver Wendell Holmes have to say about today’s “marketplace of ideas,” when the news media are being attacked daily by the government as “Enemy of the People” and many members of society are ill-equipped (or not inclined) to sort out fact from fiction?
