method in the framework of maritime boundary demarcation. In your opinion, to
what extent the nature of the judicial function explains the need to develop such
method? - Imagine that a Greek vessel is being attacked by a pirate vessel while on the
high seas. This latter pirate vessel is flying the flag of Liberia. At the same time, a
Spanish warship — which is party to the UNCLOS, the European Convention on
Human Rights, and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights — is
very close to the events and is able to intervene in order to protect the Greek vessel.
Instead, the master of the Spanish warship takes note of the events and reports
them to the authorities of Liberia. In your opinion, is this position consistent with
international law? - Can States decline to claim the possession of an Exclusive Economic Zone?
