Letting People Go

  Have you ever been involved in a layoff or parted ways with an organization? If you have not experienced this, discuss a separation of employment experience you have heard about from a colleague or friend. Briefly indicate the circumstance and reasons for the separation. Include the industry and type of company, the employee role, the length of time the employee had worked there, and any other pertinent facts. How was the separation process handled by the manager and leadership? Indicate clearly which aspects of the process were handled well and which were managed poorly. Based on the people management skills you have gained in this course, what are two ways in which this difficult process could have been managed better?
