Margaret Atwood

In Survival, Margaret Atwood observes that, “Not surprisingly in a country with such a high ratio of trees, lakes and rocks to people, images from Nature are almost everywhere. Added up, they depict a Nature that is often dead and unanswering or actively hostile…” Analyze what kinds of depictions of nature two stories from the course present and what kinds of attitudes towards nature they reveal.

The two short stories I have picked are: lazybones by Frederick Philip Grove and A Field of Wheat by Sinclair Ross. (storieswill be attached)
