Marriage is a religious ceremony that has long served society as a means to keep our carnal desires in check. Furthermore, the influence of both religion and family promotes the concept as a traditional facet of our lives. Although the tradition and concept have been modified in recent times, the idea will continue far into the future. However, there has been constant resistance to altering the concept to enable parts of society to participate.
