I. Describe all the measures that you’re using in the field to evaluate your client (e.g., checklist, progress note, S.O.A.P note, intake interview note, survey, individualized scales, oral discussion, etc.).
When do you use it?
Do you use it repeatedly? If so, how often?
For what purpose do you mainly use it?
How do you know the progress of your clients using these measures?
II. What measure would you use to monitor a client change? (note: You’re expected to analyze the data from this measure to complete your final evaluation report). Provide a brief rationale for your choices.
Discuss the reliability and validity of the selected measure. There may be scholarly articles to test the reliability and validity of the measure if you select a standardized measure. If you choose clinical notes as a measure for evaluation, you may discuss the reliability (i.e., whether the notes are recorded in a consistent way) and validity (i.e., whether the notes directly reflect the target behaviors) with your supervisor and/or may test the validity through your own review (e.g., face validity and content validity).
Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the measures.
