Some appear to have no mental illness history and others have exhibited so many symptoms that they have been investigated by the FBI. Should individuals with a history of mental illness be able to purchase firearms? How would this work? Would people have to make their medical records available when they attempt to purchase a gun? Should individuals who have been hospitalized for mental illness become part of a database of individuals who cannot purchase a gun?
