Learning outcomes three and four should be addressed in this presentation. Therefore, you must develop a piece of work that draws upon academic literature relevant to the development of others in professional practice, such as mentoring, leadership theory, change management and action learning sets.
Threshold Expectation (To Pass)
To pass this presentation students will engage with academic literature, including current research, demonstrating a broad understanding of professional development practices. Personal reflections will be critically analysed with reference to academic literature making connections between known and unknown areas in relation to professional development, to allow for adaptation and change. Solutions and ideas for future practice will relate to theory. Indications of work at this level are that students will not read from a script (although may refer to notes or prompts), some minor issues with coherence and fluency may exist during the presentation. Response to questions will demonstrate an understanding of the issues raised yet may lack innovation in the solutions suggested.
To Achieve Excellence
To achieve excellence in this presentation, students will engage with an extensive range of academic sources beyond the module reading list and including current research, demonstrating a detailed understanding of professional development practices. Personal reflections will be insightful and critically analysed with reference to academic literature making connections between known and unknown areas in relation to professional development, to allow for adaptation and change. Ideas for future practice will be synthesised from the analysis of theory and practice and offer innovative solutions to existing issues in professional practice. Indications of work at this level are that students will not read from a script (although may refer to notes or prompts) and will deliver a coherent, fluent and informed account. Responses to questions will be insightful and suggest innovative solutions to issues raised.
