Military recruiting

Review military recruiting requirements and the needs of one of the military services. Contact one military recruiting office (Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, or Coast Guard) and arrange a face-to-face interview to obtain the necessary information. If you are not able to conduct a face-to-face interview with the recruiters, schedule a telephone interview; however, a face-to-face interview is preferred. Questions to ask are:

What are their recruiting requirements, male and female quotas?
What are the basic requirements to enlist?
What job specialties are in the greatest need for that service?
What jobs seem to be of the greatest interest to those joining the services?
What is the length of enlistments or types of enlistments?
What sign-on benefits are being offered to recruits?
What are the requirements for becoming an officer, direct commission and officer candidate school (OCS)?
What are the percentages of women and men in that service? What is the percentage of single/married members or members married to another member?
What are the pay scales for enlisted members and officers?
What is the military policy on homosexuals?
What is the percentage of the different minorities in the service? Please add any other additional information that you might think to ask or find interesting.
