(2)-When it comes to great leaders, I have one in mind. She was also a friend who needed hard workers,
and knowing my working ethics signed me on with her. She taught me the basics first, the simple how-to
work registers, proper cleaning procedures, restocking, and so on. Being a good leader, she started
entrusting me into management style positions to see how I could handle it, started short trips to the bank to
get change, then the critical area. I was taught one on one how to close appropriately and open the store,
make night deposits, count down each til, properly lock up when going home, check inventory and log it,
check in trucks, make sure back room was neat, organized and most product was out on the floor instead of
the back room. This great leader with dealing with a challenging task after the actual manager left
unexpectedly, having to run the entire store that she never trained on doing, so while we threw for a loop,
she was able to bring the store up to excellent customer satisfaction, fewer inventory thefts, and missing
items, higher up’s were very thrilled with the hard work of herself, plus my help and the rest of the store
when we were in uncharted waters. This leader was faced with these tasks and not once shown signs of
defeat or signs up of giving up, she had the determination to restore the store and bring it to glory, and she
did. All while doing this she showed great leadership, did not even get a raise never once questioned, even
down to the higher-ups deciding to bring in a manager that has a bad reputation to a place she worked very
hard for, she still smiled until we realized this company did not deserve someone so hardworking and
believed into everything they stated.
