Question 1.
Using leadership theories learned, define and describe 6 characteristics associated with highly effective leaders, including the impact of these characteristics on followers and the organisation. Question 2.
Complete the following self-insight exercises from the textbook: 2.1, 2.2, 3.1, 4.1, 4.2, 5.1, 5.2, 6.2, 6.3 and 12.1.
Using the 6 leadership characteristics in Question 1 as a frame of reference, critically evaluate yourself by identifying and discussing your strengths and weaknesses, citing evidence from your personal experiences, upbringing, actions, behaviours, words, achievements, and the self-insight exercises as well as other personal assessment tools you may have used.
Describe and analyse the cultural context in which you operate and how this impacts on your leadership abilities. Provide specific examples.

Part B – Development Plan
With reference to the weaknesses you identified in Part A, work out a plan to develop yourself so that you will, in time, become a better leader. You may also consider enhancing the areas of strength you identified in Part A. Link your strategies clearly to these leadership characteristics that you plan to develop.
(Consider the various literatures you can read, short seminars and long courses you can attend or job opportunities and roles that will aid in your development as a leader).
