This research paper is for an introduction to policing college level course. The topic that I chose for this research paper is police and the media.
The reason why I chose this topic is because I believe that as of late the media has been addressing the negative aspects of policing and have been giving the American public a bad perspective of law enforcement officials.
With that in mind I would like this paper to explain how todays media shapes the perception of police officers as well as influences the publics perspective on policing.
I would also like for this paper to demonstrate the current relationship between the police and the media. Along with suggestions about how the media and police can work together to fix the negative perception towards police by the public and address the problems that are associated with todays policing such as police brutality, racial profiling and violence.
