Americans are eating more processed foods and less fresh fruit and vegetables due to cost or convenience. Processed foods include more sugars and fats than fresh foods and selection and inclusion of them in our diet should be limited. Use the same typical processed “snack” that you or your family might eat that you choose for the Hidden Sugars Assignment. In a minimum one page, typed paper, name the snack and list all the ingredients on the label. Highlight in green any forms of “Fat” you find on the label. What alternative snack could you choose instead that would provide satisfaction and less fat? Why should excessive fats be avoided in our diets? Include a bibliography at the end of your paper. Refer to Figure 6.5 for names of Common Fats and Oils but understand that this list does not include ALL forms of fats.
