  1. Have you ever stubbed your toe? When it occurred, most of us reached down and grabbed our toe with the expectation that we will feel the pain from stubbing it. Why is the pain that we feel in situations like these not instantaneous? 2. What role do you think myelin plays in our perception of pain? Do you think the location of where the injury occurs makes a difference (e.g., a foot versus the head)?
