Psychopathology and pharmacology

Use concepts from pathophysiology and pharmacology to explain the clinical manifestations and pharmacotherapy associated with hypertension, diabetes, diabetic peripheral neuropathy and depression. Evaluate assessment data to determine the effectiveness of the prescribed plan of care. Determine congruence between a prescribed plan of care and current, evidence-based clinical practice guidelines. Recommend changes to a plan of care based upon current clinical practice guidelines and identified gaps in care. Use concepts from both pathophysiology and pharmacology to explain the clinical best practices for the management of patients experiencing diabetes, diabetic peripheral neuropathy and depression along with the previously diagnosed hypertension.
