3. Discuss and compare the Black Nationalist philosophies of W.E.B. DuBois and
Marcus Garvey. Discuss how these philosophies have emerged in the modern
moment, and how, or if, they are effective.
4. What were the similarities and differences in the way the rising capitalist class in
England and in the United States were connected to the slave trade, and how does this
residue manifest in modern day slavery?
