Drawing from your skills as artists, this paper will place a piece of visual art into conversation with a musical
composition. Centering around the idea of gender as performance, this paper will sonically examine how a
musician of your choice communicates their gendered experience in one of their musical compositions. Using
this performance as inspiration, you will then analyze a piece of visual art as it relates to this musical
