Another friend of yours is confused by the many different opinions they find on the internet. They read one person’s opinion and it sounds right to them. But
they then read a second person’s opinion that disagrees with the first and it sounds right to them as well. They know that you have been taking a philosophy
course and send you an email asking for help. They ask you, “How do I know what is true? How can I distinguish what is “fake” and what is “real”?”
As you prepare to answer their questions, choose one philosopher discussed in the readings and videos assigned for week 2 and write an email to your
friend in which you explain how your chosen philosopher would answer their questions. What would your chosen philosopher say is the best way for human
beings to know what is true and what is false? What are the rules this philosopher would offer to your friend to help them make sure they are thinking
properly?
