Sustainability Appraisal

  Reflecting real-world experience, the task encourages students to reflect on how ‘best’ to navigate and evaluate the social, economic, environmental, and political challenges inherent in designing a large-scale sustainable urban development. This should be based on a selected development/project of your choice (should be agreed with your tutor), focuses on a high-profile urban development locally, regionally or internationally, as long as you have access to all detailed information and data. Students are tasked with generating a coherent, creative and viable approach to the site that addresses the project’s aspirations and draws upon urban innovations elsewhere.
