Social movements are forms of collective action, where people come together around a common cause to fight for rights, cultural shifts, tangible benefits, or other elements of socio-cultural change. In this essay, examine an online social movement of your choosing (such as /We too, Black Lives Matter, The Zeitgeist Movement Yes We Code, etc.) and discuss its capacity for social change. Be sure to address the following questions and engage concepts from throughout the semester within your analysis:

What technologies does the movement engage? How do those technologies support the movement’s capacity building?
Broadly speaking, how powerful is technology in supporting the effectiveness of social movements? What are its limits?
