Telling what is going on in the Universe from visible light and radio waves

1.If we only can tell what is going on in the Universe from visible light and radio waves, how do
astronomers know how stars form?
2.This is really not related to this week’s chapter, but have you ever seen Sci-Fi movies where
what they show is actually impossible? Like all the sound in space battles?(No sound in a
vacuum) Lasers you can see shooting out?(Kinda like seeing bullets)or gravity on spaceships?
Why do you think movie makers continue to do this?
3.Are we alone?
For no particular reason this week, I am asking the question that I think anyone who has ever
looked up at the stars has asked? So, is there life out there somewhere? Why or why not?
4.Stars all go through a similar life cycle, but what determines how a star ends its life? What is
the difference in its becoming a white dwarf, neutron star, or a black hole?
