It has been observed that insects follow a trail and you have probably seen ants running to and from a food source along the same single path. How do these insects know where they are going? Why
are they all using the same path? It has been determined that insects follow a chemical trail that has been left behind to help others of the same species navigate to the same food source. In
this section you will investigate an insect’s ability to discern a trail.
a. Find what you believe to be a valid source for information (research) on insects following chemical trails. The citation should follow the formatting that you usually use when citing
sources but at a minimum must include the name of the source (journal, magazine, online, etc.), title of article, authors (if known) and a URL for the source.
