The Barneys New York Foundation’s Collegiate Summer Intensive Program

Description The Barneys New York Foundation’s Collegiate Summer Intensive Program is a three-week program from May-June, where selected college students are given the opportunity to go behind-the-scenes of Barneys New York to learn how the company operates. Although, this is not an internship program; students are exposed to all elements of operations of a luxury retailer through department presentations and one-on-one mentoring sessions with departmental leaders. As a capstone for this program, each student will make a presentation on a topic chosen by senior leadership.
Upon completion, the Barneys New York Foundation will present each participating student:

  • A scholarship of $2,500 – Exposure to Barneys New York senior leadership, as well as, experienced employees in all aspects of the business – Substantive presentations and Q&A opportunities with leaders from all departments – Job shadow experience in at least two areas of interest – A certificate of completion and letter of recommendation – Lunch and snacks provided during program hours – Subway/bus/rail passes to cover transportation to and from the program – A capstone presentation event with senior management – Opportunity to evaluate the program through provided survey
