The Chosen by Chaim Potok

    Write a five-paragraph expository essay in which you discuss how three of the four major characters (Reuven, Danny, David Malter, and Reb Saunders) showed compassion in the novel. You will need to write an introductory paragraph, three body paragraphs, and a conclusion. The introduction may be either a funnel or a speech-style introduction. The conclusion should consist of three sentences: (1) restate your thesis, (2) restate your three subtopics, and (3) a clincher.
