The Exceptional HR reflection

The Exceptional HR reflection paper is an expression of your experiences, thoughts and reactions to your learning experience in this course about yourself as it relates to human resource management.

Before you start writing, take at least 30 minutes to reflect upon what you have learned about yourself as it relates to human resource management so far in this course. Take into account your reading from the text, articles, Real HR presentations and class activities with your company teams. Consider the following:

“I’m a current/aspiring HR professional.”
“I anticipate working as a leader and/or with HR professionals in some capacity in the future.”
Select one of the above to serve as the lens from which you reflect and write your paper. Next consider the following:

The three roles of HR: strategic, operational, administrative
The aspects of HR we’ve discussed up to now
The aspects of HR we haven’t yet covered
HR topics that have interested you and piqued your interest
HR topics that you’re still curious about
Further examine your experiences and for the paper, incorporate your responses to the following questions:

What have you discovered about the relationship between HR and leaders and HR and employees?
What have you discovered about the HR department of your company team?
How can you best collaborate with an HR team member and/or be part of an HR team?
What HR strengths do you bring to an organization?
What has surprised you about HR?
What things should you watch out for when it comes to HR practices?
What is the most significant thing you’ve learned about yourself as it relates to HR?
With what you’ve learned so far, what might you do differently going forward?
Taking into consideration everything you’ve learned what do you think an HR department can do to create an exceptional employee experience for an organization? Be specific and provide examples. (Feel free to reference optional or external resources.)
