The Machiavellian prince

We have read about the Machiavellian prince — a frightening yet effective leader — who, supposes Machiavelli, is better suited to govern than, say, a benevolent ruler. Identify who you would consider to be a Machiavellian ruler and discuss the reasons for your choice. Naturally, I want you to measure your choice against Machiavelli’s notions of what it means to be a good “prince.”
