These near misses range from driving the apparatus, improper device setup for operation, operating too close to hazards, and reports of personnel not using the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) while operating the aerial device. This essay must include the following: · Explain the importance of understanding the construction of aerial apparatus. · Describe the function of aerial apparatus in the fire service. · Identify three capabilities and/or limitations of an aerial device as they apply to safe deployment (consider items such as tip load with the forces of water, weather conditions, how the apparatus is designed, etc.).
