On January 20, 2021, Joe Biden became the president of the United States. At his inauguration, a 22-year-old
poet named Amanda Gorman performed a piece she wrote for this event.
Please watch the two videos below. The first, is her inauguration performance (I’ve also attached a written
version of her poem below). The second video is a short TED Talk she gave in 2018, where she talked about
the power that comes with using your voice publicly.
