“race is a real social distinction, and people around the world and throughout history have drawn sharp lines between “us” and “them” on the basis of race…" although biologically, genetically, geographically, and culturally, “…race has fluid and changeable boundaries” (Conley, 326), making racial distinctions difficult. What does Dalton Conley mean by this statement, and by the notion that race is socially constructed? Please use the example of the Chukchansi tribe, discussed in the podcast, to illustrate your argument.
