“The Social Life of Small Urban Spaces” documents the “Street Life Project”, a study of public spaces in New York City. It shows Whyte’s keen observations of the relationships between urban spaces and people, and informs viewers including planners and community designers on how they might consider the organization of a space that people actually use. The primary objective of this assignment is for you to reflect on many questions Whyte presents and think of their implications in today’s context at hand.
