For economies to grow, we must engage in more trade versus erecting barriers to keep trade out. This finding is contrary to the belief of many in our society who believe that the U.S. is losing out by outsourcing production to other countries and/or engaging in trade. These individuals have a tendency to think in zero sum terms. That is, if someone is gaining from trade then someone must be losing an equal amount. Do these people have a point? Do you believe in trade? Do you believe in a Win-Win outcome? Why/why not.
