Case Study:
EvanEvan is 23 years old and just returned from Afghanistan. He was injured when a land mine blew up his
Hummer. Evan was lucky, he sustained several broken bones and a mild head trauma but survived the
explosion. Three other guys in the vehicle were not so lucky and Evan’s best friend died in his arms. Evan
thought he was OK, the incident occurred 6 months ago and he is alright physically but emotionally he is a
mess. Now back in the States he doesn’t know what to do with himself. He is scared all the time, is always
looking over his shoulder for someone who might hurt him and has become depressed. He is afraid to go to the
