- There are many reasons why we pick the people we chose to be in relationships with, as discussed in our unit reading. Using an example from your life (or from someone you know, or from a movie…), elaborate on one of those reasons. How did this factor facilitate building a relationship?
- Relational messages communicate important information about relationships. What are relational messages? Provide an example of a relational message. How can we use relational messages to build and maintain strong relationship?
- When examining a relationship, we can look at it from the perspective of dialectical tensions or from the perspective of the stages. How do these two approaches differ and why is either useful?
- Select one of the dialectical tensions to elaborate on. Provide an example.
