URBAN RENEWAL AND DEVELOPMENT IN CAPE MAY, NEW JERSEY

I am writing a 15-20 page research paper on urban renewal in Cape May. Specifically I am targeting the now Washington Street Mall, which was labeled the
“Victoria Village Urban Renewal Project”. I’d like to target specifically how urban renewal funds were used to create the Washington Street Mall. I’d also like to
touch on, and provide context with LBJ’s Department of Housing and Urban Development and the war on poverty. The specific legislation of funds given to
Cape May to eliminate the slums and create economic development linking to the disagreements and displacements over the designated parking areas. The
community’s reaction to the change.
