Description
Application papers are assigned as a way to increase learning and retention. This occurs through having you write about something that interests you and increases your understanding of a concept or idea within the field. Select from one of the prompts listed below and choose one of the numbered options to complete your analysis. Include theories and concepts from class into a thesis, followed by a thematic essay, which supports your thesis.
- Option1: Analyze a concept that we have covered or one that is in the book and apply that to one real world example. For example if you were interested in cultural communication you could pick a concept we covered i.e., stereotyping and apply that to a popular television program like The Office, etc.
-Option 2: Pick a song and discuss how the song utilizes language rules / verbal messages.
-Option 3: Pick one of the themes below and discuss the relevance of the article (s) to the study of communication.
