Voices of a People's History

Choose one of the following themes, and then choose any 3-4 sources from Voices of a People's History to provide an analysis of that theme using those sources. The sources are your choice-- as long as they are found in your Voices text and/or listed on one of our class modules.
Themes to discuss: The advocacy for suffrage (right to vote) Genocide of Native Americans Assimilation into U.S. society-through force or choice Rigid gender expectations Resistance to discrimination The US unequal immigration system The US government's support of the rich over the poor Labor antagonism (strikes, labor disputes) African Americans and their push for physical freedom and/or civic equality LGBTQ Movement

In the paper, discuss what the sources tell you about the theme you chose. What do they teach about the subject? Why are they significant? Do they differ? What does that suggest? Or are they woven together with similarities? Explain. Please understand that you don't have to answer these exact questions in a rigid order. Rather, explore the sources as you wish, making sure to ultimately tell me what they say about the theme.
