1. Describe the research problem. Why is it interesting? How is it rooted in the scientific and social discussion? Have you found a research hatch? Which or what theories will you use? 2. Describe the study’s design. Is it an empirical or normative study? How have you thought about designing your study, ex. what cases do you use and why? Which method/methods will you use? If it is an empirical study, which empirical materials do you use? What are the problems with the material? If it isn’t an empirical study, how will you go about answering your research question? What are your theoretical starting points? 3.Describe the analysis. Do you use an analysis tool (such as a coding scheme or interview guide)? How have you developed it? On what grounds do you draw your conclusions? What problems do you think you will encounter during the analysis? How do you hope to solve them? If it is an empirical study, discuss your operationalization and their validity. If it is not an empirical study, discuss the central concepts of the study and their usefulness. 4. Describe possible results. What results do you expect from the study? How general in time and space will your results be? Also discuss cumulativity; what will you contribute in terms of new knowledge? Are there any ethical problems with your survey?
