“The Ethics of Belief”

Part I (Clifford): In the second section from “The Ethics of Belief” (which I asked you to read in connection with EC#1) Clifford endeavors to describe the circumstances under which appeals to authority are appropriate and when they aren’t. In about one page, summarize his conclusions. (Note: Clifford is a
product of the misunderstandings of his times, which is why he refers to Islam as “Mohammidism”, a term which is generally regarded as offensive by Muslims. Note also that he probably only chooses Islam for
abuse because he doesn’t want to antagonize his largely Christian readership.)
