A Day in the Life of a CPS Worker

You have been called to an elderly woman’s home. The family is upset that she is refusing to leave the home for an evaluation at the hospital even though she can no longer walk, is incontinent, and cannot get to the kitchen to fix meals for herself. She lives alone. When you arrive, you find her daughter and son-in-law exasperated from their attempts to convince her to go to the hospital for a medical workup, as her doctor has recommended. You enter the room, and after introducing yourself and finding a place to sit down near her, you ask her an open question.
