Barriers Latino families and youth face when seeking mental health services in HUSD (hayward unified school district)
Should focus on–
Cultural barriers
language barriers
fear of deportation/immigration
and unaware of mental health services not being involved or included/ unaware of school mental health services
All references must be within the past 10 years. Reference at least 20 peer-reviewed research articles Organize this literature review section into carefully
thought out subsections (probably 3-4) that cover the main subtopics relevant to giving background on what has been researched in the area of your study
question. In terms of content, review literature, if applicable, on treatment and service models, sociocultural determinants of children, youth, and family wellbeing and welfare, culturally based manifestations of, screening/assessment instruments, etc.
Study questions to keep in consideration1) What are the barriers Latino youth/families face accessing mental health services in HUSD? 2) In what areas do families need support to connect to
services? 3) What would support Latino families in wanting to seek mental health services? 4) What suggestions do providers have to help increase access?
