Select an organisation you are familiar with, preferably the organisation you work for, and using theories and concepts covered in the module, you are
required to provide a written report to the management, analyzing and assessing its financial
performance over the last five years. This analysis should also include ratio analysis and
competitor benchmarking in order for its management to be able to design and make
recommendation for the strategy of the company.
You are required to:
- Analyze the company’s financial statements, the way the company is using the assets,
the company’s performance and the cash flow generated by the current and non-current
activities. Use an adequate period of time on your analysis, preferably five years. It is
important to use graphs and tables and compare your findings with another company of
the same sector. - Use Balanced Scorecard to evaluate the performance of the chosen company.
You should acknowledge your sources through referencing in the text, provide a references list
and use a recognized standard such as Harvard reference style. Note that it is not enough to
simply cite the work of an author in the reference section – all entries in this section should have
a corresponding citation in the body of the essay. Direct plagiarism or copying is a serious
offence and will be dealt with formally.
