Examining Your Learning Experiences

Some literature suggests that teachers tend to teach in their own classroom in the same ways that they were taught. Reflect on your experiences as a learner, from the time you began school as a young child until now. Think about the kinds of learning events in which you have participated. Answer each question and use two references.

What have been your experiences in learning? Were they mostly sit and get (for example, lecture and discussion)? Were they interactive (for example, cooperative learning or project-based learning)?
Which learning events were most engaging for you?
How did the different approaches (active and passive) impact your own learning?
What implications does that have for your teaching?
Please note that the group I am currently teaching now are preschoolers.
