OPTION 2: Fund-Raising Letter: Consolidated Giving Fund Drive
The president of your university wants to send out a letter to all employees encouraging them to support the annual community consolidated giving fund
drive. As a member of the public relations department, you have been assigned to draft the letter. The letter should make the following points (but not
necessarily in this order):
Contributing to the consolidated giving fund is easy and convenient; employees can sign up for a monthly payroll deduction; the card to sign up will
accompany the letter.
The university has always been a major contributor to the community’s consolidated giving fund; last year, more than $200,000 was raised from university
employees alone; this year’s goal is $250,000.
Consolidated giving supports more than 50 community projects; more than 95 percent of the contributions will stay within the community.
Each department within the university has been given a goal; it is important for every individual employee to respond.
The letter should be less than 500 words.
